Cormorants - awakening. I have just spent two days going to the Somerset Levels, it's been 2 & 1/2 months since I last went. That's how busy you get when you retire. Lol. This was taken at 07:30 this morning and it had obviously been their bed for the night. It was so peaceful.
One more I like to share: in winter 2010, I visited the nearby town Hulst for a photoshoot, in wintry conditions.
In a pond I saw a mixed congregation of birds, including this Cormorant sextet.
These mostly appear to be young Cormorants, judging by the white underparts.
This loch is many miles inland but they do seem to like that tree, there's always some on it. Kinnordy is only a few miles away as the crow flies and although I often see some there, there's never the numbers...
Here the cormorants are enjoying themselves with synchronised flying and landing. They would just fly from one end of the lake to the other, settle down for some time before taking off together again.
