This Cuckoo was hunting caterpillars from posts at Druiridge Bay in Northumberland in August.

This young Cuckoo spent a hour with me on Shingle Street beach, perching on a fence about 18ft from myself. coming down to catch grubs sometime at my feet. If he was an adult he would'nt have come with 100 of yards. He finally flew of when a Apache helicopter flew very low right over head.
Work interfered with birding today, but I went out in the 90 + degree heat at noon anyway and found virtually nothing, as the birds had more sense than I do... except for this guy.

i spent an hour hiding in a thorn bush waiting for this cuckoo to land on one of ten posts in front of me just glad i was quick enough to fire a couple of shots before it flew into the bush i was hiding in!!!!
