These pretty birds are one of my favorite winter visitors. We have had quite a few here this year and they add so much life to the winter garden. This bird is a pretty female, the males don't have the browns in the plumage.

Just after a light rain, and all of the colors are more saturated on the perches. Food sticks to the beak of the birds, as well.

A person has to love a blue sky this time of the year! We had a pretty grey January and this was one of the few clear days. Love these sweet birds and am enjoying them while they are around.
