These started to appear near the middle of October, with the first cold fronts moving into the higher elevations. By Nov. there are scores of them in the yard taking advantage of the easy nurishment. There are several varients from the Great plains, and the Rockies. Hoping to get a pink-sided...

    Autumn Junco

My lovely Juncos showed up in the gardens this week and they are back in force. What a treat to see them perching amongst the fall foliage. The colors in the garden have been glorious this week with the crabapple tree, climbing hydrangea and oak trees putting on their fall show. Fall garden...

These pretty birds are one of my favorite winter visitors. We have had quite a few here this year and they add so much life to the winter garden. This bird is a pretty female, the males don't have the browns in the plumage.

Just after a light rain, and all of the colors are more saturated on the perches. Food sticks to the beak of the birds, as well.

A person has to love a blue sky this time of the year! We had a pretty grey January and this was one of the few clear days. Love these sweet birds and am enjoying them while they are around.

I've finally gotten a large flock of these sweet birds coming in to the feeders along with a good 25 or so White-throated Sparrows, 4 Song and 4 American Tree Sparrows. They've been quite skittish this week as there is a Cooper's Hawk around most days. While out in the hide Monday, observing...

We finally have some good numbers of these lovely birds here in the garden. I spent a lovely five hours out in the hide yesterday and had lots and lots of birds. Half the time I just sat back and enjoyed their antics. I counted 19 species of birds visiting the garden while I was outside. The...
