  4. Ross's Gull Radipole Lakes

    Ross's Gull Radipole Lakes

Finally got down to Dorset to try and see the Ross's. It made us sweat a bit, not being reported between 8:15 and 11:15 when it made it's usual visit to Radipole. Very smart little gull, with a hell of a gob on it for the size of its head

    blue Headed Wagtail Longham Lakes

The morning I noticed this bird was the day Alan Pearce (Photographer/ Birder) was out and just as well because I wasn't able to grab a image & such a good one at that! This photo has been cropped close by me so hopefully we can work out which part of Europe he came from any ideas? Spain?
  13. The famous five

    The famous five

This small flock of Whimberl touched down like most birding surprises for about 10 minutes just time to grab afew pics!
  14. Cetti's Warbler Dorset

    Cetti's Warbler Dorset

We may as photographers delete an image like this but hold on isn't how we often see such a bird & don't we want to know that the bird in the picture is a wild bird? well you can't get more of a proof pic then this!
  15. Poppy

We went this morning to Lodmoor RSPB so a friend of mine could try for his 3rd time to see the Stilt Sandpiper alas it didn't show. But the 'ordinary' Gull was so beautifully lite I just had to share this bird with you.

    Baby boom

This was one of what seemed like at least a dozen babies that exploded from a bush as I walked by.
  21. From the hip!

    From the hip!

Follwing the sound of very irate blackbirds this Tawny burst through the trees - managed to fire off a few shots literally from the hip - this was the best.
  22. Black Redstart

    Black Redstart

I decided not to crop this picture, firstly because then you would realise what a poor photo it is ;), but also because I think it symbolises how adpatable these birds are and how they live so closely to humans, as is shown by this one standing in a gutter, albeit at a migration hotspot.

  24. Slavonian Grebe

    Slavonian Grebe

Although one had been reported recently we were surprised when this Slavonian Grebe surfaced close to us. We had a really cracking view of this beauty down to less 10m or so at times. It spent a long time with this fish but typically was diving frequently.
  25. Sika

    Sika

There are Sika Deer everywhere at Arne. They are walking around in the car park literally. It is crazy!
