Back in the garden and the sun still shining, a Double-barred finch had now come in for a forage, hoping to find some seeds.
They're so cute these wee finches (and they are very small!)
Now it was time to get some practise in with the new Nikon P900 that I'd just purchased from Hans and Judy. For a few sessions, there will be a mix of images from the two cameras.
Even though finches aren't generally large, these guys are really tiny and look like little mice running around...
Quite a few lifers on my two short walks on my own before the organized trip got started. Good that I had bought, and packed with me, a field guide :eek!:
Finally, I have managed to get to this little finch closer than 20m :) In fact this one was so brave, I thought I will need to switch into macro mode as he was getting closer and closer...
Taken just after first light . Heaps of these in Hans and Judy's garden so they don't bother to take many shots where for me it's a novelty to have them in the open.
