My 50-500 lens is in for a well deserved overhall so have been strugling with using my 70-300 only. lol Found this fellow in tree in backyard yesterday.
Hope to have lens back by next week.
Still very few birds at the seed feeders but I'm seeing all the local Woodpeckers at the suet. Can't wait for my sparrows and finches to come back. I cloned a bit of the suet feeder out of the upper right of the image.
I took this one a few weeks ago in Arkansas while on vacation. I think this is a Hairy Woodpecker and not a Downy due to the length of the beak. It also appeared to be a little larger. I would love some opinions of others though. Thanks...Ed

Another shot of my friend, Darrel. Got to trust me pretty good for a couple of summers, before hummingbird feeders took over my porch. He would faithfully gather seeds for his mate in their out in the first oak in the pasture. One at a time, all day long. We talked a lot.
