A beautiful dragonfly that graces my yard in summer.

The pond at work attracts several species of dragonflies. The fellow was hanging on in the breeze.

The dragonflies seem to like to perch on this garden hook.

shot with my 70-300 VR zoom lens on a cloudy day. looking for birds and this guy came by.

This juvenile dragon fly on a dragon(!) wing begonia. I was really taken wwith the golden highlights on his body.

no idea what this creature is named

Caught this guy leaving the submarine stage to start his aviation career. Only took him 1 hour from leaving the submarine to getting his pilots licence.

Resting on the coarse white sand of the lake shore. Will search for exact ID.

I have no knowledge about dragonflies. So sorry, I cannot tell the Scientific name of this one.

Too much dew for me to ID. I photographed this dragonfly yesterday on a chilly, dewy morning. This poor fellow was so wet and cold I had plenty of time to work. I made distant inviromental images and many full body portraits. Something about examining him super close with that dew captivated...

I think it's a hawker but my dragonfly id skills are limited to say the least! This one's from my holiday in Norfolk this year.

Backlight and lots of morning dew makes it difficult for me to ID this dragonfly. Of course it also made it a lot of fun to photography.

Never seen three dragonflies flying together like the picture is showing.
