First time to clap a lense on one of these impressive creatures and this one was busily engaged in laying eggs along this large log.This idylic scene was spoiled however by the many dead fish to be seen, and smelt, in the pond all of 3-4 inches and consisting mostly of Roach as far as Icould...
I thought I would have some fun with dragonflies today. I must say it was quite difficult with them zipping around, and the DOF being so shallow, and no auto focus capabilities in my setup... Cheers ....
According to my book this is female praenubila (Newman) variety (because of the extended dark patches under the four pterostigma) - think that's correct
