Need help at identification !

Busily working on the next generation of Brown Hawkers. Never seen one before and impressed by its size dwarfing the Common Darters also in evidence.

This was at times sharing the log with a Common Darter and various Damsels,mostly Blue-tailed I think.

First time to clap a lense on one of these impressive creatures and this one was busily engaged in laying eggs along this large log.This idylic scene was spoiled however by the many dead fish to be seen, and smelt, in the pond all of 3-4 inches and consisting mostly of Roach as far as Icould...

Decorating a log on Keston Common earlier this afternoon.

Not the best lens (EF 400 f5.6) for shooting dragonflies - but it's the only one I have at the moment!

I thought I would have some fun with dragonflies today. I must say it was quite difficult with them zipping around, and the DOF being so shallow, and no auto focus capabilities in my setup... Cheers ....

Thought I would try an insect.

I forgot about this one which I took a few weeks ago. Lovely warm sunny morning in the woodlands of Somerford Common, N. Wiltshire

I thought I would bring out my old macro lens and mess around with insects and similar stuff for a change.. Cheers

According to my book this is female praenubila (Newman) variety (because of the extended dark patches under the four pterostigma) - think that's correct

Norfolk Hawker landed on opposite side of a willow from the pictured four-spotted chaser which had repeatedly left its perch to chase it off!
