It seemed ages since I'd last seen one of these, so checked back and it was just less than 2 weeks, when we were at the Gold Coast! But goodness, so much had happened and I'd seen so much since then, it was almost like seeing a new bird!! LOL
This is a Dusky Moorhen, which should be all black...
We really packed a lot into that day, for next we headed inland a bit with Oxenford Weir our next stop.
Having parked up the car and had a quick look around I soon spotted a Dusky Moorhen clambering on the rocks that form the dam and weir.
We crossed over the road and explored what I'll now call the Golf Course Lake (there was a golf course on the other side of the water.
This seemed to attract many different species like this Dusky Moorhen.
Another experiment with the new hardware. We often see te Dusky Moorhens runing over the water, but I'm never quick enough to capture, but hopefully the new a65V might help, like with this full-framer.
Have finally entered the world of DSLR after experiencing great frustration in South America with slow focussing. This is the first day out with the new camera!
