I'd briefly seen this one the day before but couldn't get a picture, this guy was rather more obliging. This Dusky Woodswallow meant I'd now seen 5 of the 6 woodswallows to be found in Australia. The remaining one (Little) wasn't really in the areas I visited. This one doesn't appear in the...

I took this photograph 2 months ago at Pengilly Scrub, about 40k north of Adelaide, a favourite birding spot that attracts several species normally only seen much further away. Sadly Pengilly Scrub was 80% destroyed by the fires which raged across the area on Wednesday.

First two shots taken with the new Tamron 150-600. Both birds were a fair distance away and shots have been heavily cropped.

    'New arrival!'

Hi all, have been searching for the Dusky Woodswallows in the local forest and today I was lucky...4 adults and 6 juvies....arrived from up north. The Dusky's used to be here every year but have missed a couple, so very happy to see! They were chattering away in the tree tops and then hawking...

Hi all, another try with the 'Digi' The local Shire owns the block of land where the Dusky and White_Browed Woodswallows come to nest and I've been asked to take a few photos for them! The Dusky's have already made their nests high in the trees but the others have yet to arrive from the north...

    'Back again!....

When Pete and I had sighted the Pallid Cuckoo we came back down the road and I saw this fellow balancing on the fence, the wind was very strong at this stage, so out I hopped and walked right up to it! It stayed for a while not quite knowing whether to keep watching me or try it's luck for...
