eastern rosella

My first New Year's resolution for 2019: I will catch up on my BF browsing later today.

These birds are mum and a baby. Even though, it seams the 'baby' is fully capable of flying and walking for some reason it relies on it's parent to bring him seeds... I leave this bit up to them, and I just enjoy their colours :o)

It always amazes me how colours in birds sequenced in rainbow order. Obviously, it was an absolute evolutinal necessity, otherwise they would not have survived. An evidence of that is that there are no eastern rosellas with the reverse colours order! What do you think?

2014 has been a bit of a hectic year, with 2 jobs on the go, but all being well, that will change from next month when I retire from one of them and I can find more time to get back into my BF life. We were out looking for shorebirds that are now arriving from their breeding season up north...
