Was able to photograph this red phase Eastern Screech due to a heads up tip from a good friend in upstate NY. It was relatively out in the open but so hard to see until you knew it was there.

Almost every screech owl I've ever photographed has been in a stinking cavity instead of on a nice perch. I went for more of an environmental shot this time as I'm often dissapointed with the look of the close up of cavity birds.
