During June Eleonora's falcons make a short detour to inland Spain before finally getting to their breeding grounds in the Mediterranean islands, and I can see them near home

Having no time for field work at the moment, I decided to post an Illustration plate, depicting Eleonora's falcons, which will be used in a small monograph for this amazing raptor, and will be published during this Autumn. I hope, you'll like it! Spizaetos

A week off their first flight!! These F.eleonorae young were photographed on the island of Dragonera off Mallorca's southern coast. Had a great opportunity when I accompanied the local government falcon expert who was doing a routine checkup of the colony.
