    On-looker

This Blue Tit came pretty close to where we were standing at the gate, maybe hoping we had some more food to put in that area, but he was out of luck on this occasion.
  6. Blue in the grey

    Blue in the grey

This Blue Tit found itself on the other side of the road from the feeders, hence the different colour to the background.
  7. Showed himself at last

    Showed himself at last

A follow up image from yesterday's fun capture. The Blue Tit decided it was no good trying to hide from me after all, and moved round so I could get a better look at him!

Since my neighbour had the beech hedge heavily pruned, I've been able to see more into the hedge of course. Normally the branches and leaves would come a few feet over onto our property and proved to be a good hiding place for cats. Spotted this wee Blue Tit down there. TTTW

    Top 'em up please

Looks like the peanuts have taken a bit of a hit. I always take some feed with me but not a great deal as others top up the feeders when they go as well. Seems we might be miscalculating LOL

    I Lied!

... or fooled you (shame it wasn't April 1st LOL) This is the last picture in that sequence I showed you on Thursday where it looked like the Blue Tit was feeding seemingly without support. But if you look very closely just above his head you will see that he is clinging on to the feeder with...

I might line up one of the other images I took of this guy waiting for a space at the feeders... there was constant activity there with loads of birds flying back and fro, this was the only shot that didn't have a blur in it!!

    SF1 - Full Moon

After that stormy morning (the one with all those rain shots), the weather cleared up and I went out for a walk. Along the way I was "mooned" by this Blue Tit. Looks round enough that I guess this was a full moon.

    What's wrong with my one?

He seems to prefer the old fat balls than the nice new one I'd taken. Why bovver!!!?

interesting these days to observe the reactions of the territory holders towards the trespassers going to the feeder

since a few weeks this blue tit with a rather unusual plumage regularly visits the feeder in our garden. It's got an unusual amount of black feathers, particularly a rather large bib and an almost complete black vent; seems to have an excess of melanin.
