  1. Collard Dove

    Collard Dove

Another Colly on the fence, taken through a gap in the door. Also another pic that shows how different these look when they squash their neck up (wrong phrase, but I'm rushing a bit|=)|). I'm saving my last upload again, as I've not seen a Sparrowhawk for two days. Although the light is really...
  2. Collared Dove

    Collared Dove

I won't be here much until after Christmas, so I'll be missing many of your pics and commenting. The Electrical work, that I mentioned in another post, is being carried out soon. It means I have to provide access to every switch and outlet, and also access to the loft. So I've lots of things to...
  3. Another Colly

    Another Colly

Another from yesterday, this one in different light. Full frame, and through a gap in the door. I'm saving one upload, as it's hectic with the Sparrowhawks today, lots of misses so far though. Camera Maker: Panasonic Camera Model: DMC-FZ28 Image Date: 2010:12:08 13:28:28 Focal Length: 81.2mm...
  4. Eurasian Collared Dove

    Eurasian Collared Dove

As I said in my last post; I'm a bit busy ATM, but I did manage a shot of this Colly just now. Taken through a gap in the door. I'll try and get back later and catch up with some more pics that I've missed. Camera Maker: Panasonic Camera Model: DMC-FZ28 Image Date: 2010:12:08 13:28:23 Focal...
  5. Collared Dove

    Collared Dove

Not been here since Friday as I wasn't up to it. My condition means that doing too much messes me up a bit, and I had to move furniture the other day for the Electrical work we had done (well, assessed before the actual work is carried out). Anyway, here's a Colly, not through the window. Not...
  6. Collard Dove

    Collard Dove

Another bird taken from the garden yesterday, instead of from behind the window. It didn't really help though, as it's always poor light in the trees. I would probably normally have cropped this close, so you could see more detail, but I thought it looked better as I took it (which is how it...
  7. Half a Colly

    Half a Colly

Like the caption says|=)| I've at least 10 regular Collys that stay in the garden all day, plus another 8+ that turn up at different times. I don't know how they do it, but they manage to get food despite the 60+ Pigeons getting to the food first. I'm trying to catch the Woody in better light...
  8. Collard Dove

    Collard Dove

I'll give the Jay pics a rest until tomorrow.|=)| Through the window as usual.
  9. Collard Dove

    Collard Dove

I bet you was expecting a Jay.|=)| I like lighting on this, although I didn't at first; so maybe you'll need to look at it twice.|=)| Through the window as usual.
  10. Collard Dove

    Collard Dove

Still lots of Jay pics, but I thought I'd upload a Colly first today. There's only a few times each day when the light through the trees is good enough for pictures. None of which helps if there's no birds perched in the right spot. This Colly was in the right spot at the right time. Through...
  11. Collard Dove

    Collard Dove

I like the light and setting for this, I don't catch these in the tree in decent light often; through the smeary window again.
  12. Collard Dove

    Collard Dove

If the light is right, and I get the right angle, I can get a better-looking BG like this. Of course, none of that matters if there's no birds on that wall.|=)| Through the window as usual.
  13. Colly in a tree

    Colly in a tree

One from 10 minutes ago in the garden.
  14. Eurasian Collared Dove (male)

    Eurasian Collared Dove (male)

I like this image, but I think I may have focused on a leaf instead of the bird, as the bird looks a bit soft to me. I also couldn't crop enough to get the tail of the female out of the frame. Judging by the fact that this bird was bowing and cooing at the bird to it's left, it's a male. Taken...
  15. Eurasian Collared Dove

    Eurasian Collared Dove

Another Colly in the tree, taken through the window. The only reason I found this a bit different was the dead twig/leaf pressing onto it's breast. It sort of snuggled up to it and stayed there for hours. Ii just looked a bit uncomfortable to me, but apparently not.
  16. Snowy Colly

    Snowy Colly

Just about enough light today, thanks to the effect of the snow, so I'm trying to catch as many as I can in the snow. Here's my first effort of the day. Through the window @ 1/80th second shutter, which is faster than most days lately.
  17. Colly close-up

    Colly close-up

A rather odd looking Collard Dove. Many of the birds are either fluffed up or hunched because of the cold. Through double glazing as usual; also with TCON 1.7 to see what loss of detail there would be.
  18. Eurasian Collared Dove

    Eurasian Collared Dove

I meant to upload this the other day, but I got a little preoccupied with the Jays. Through the window at 1/40th second.
  19. Eurasian Collared Dove

    Eurasian Collared Dove

Just a Collard Dove, but I quite like Collard Doves.
  20. Haven from the Snow

    Haven from the Snow

This species looks very similar to the Ringed Turtle Dove.
  21. Eurasian Collared Dove

    Eurasian Collared Dove

Another first I got on Bahamas trip. Total was 6 new birds on this trip. This guy was sitting up on one of the roofs almost every morning cooing very loudly.
  22. Eurasian Collared Dove

    Eurasian Collared Dove

This year is the first time we have had these doves come in for feeding.

  25. Eurasian Collared-Dove

    Eurasian Collared-Dove

A most photogenic bird, new to this area. In fact the first I have ever seen. Only one appeared here this summer, no others so far. Noticeably larger than the Mourning Dove common here.
