I'm just posting this one from yesterday, to let you all know that I'm still alive. Well, I've not logged on since yesterday afternoon.|=)|
I'm having problems with my arms again (I think it's to do with the blood problem I mentioned), and using my arms is a bit difficult for me, so I can't do...
The Jays returned over a week ago, but they won't stay in the garden for as long yet. They do this every year; they disappear while breeding (they feed their young insects and grubs, my garden is full of nuts |=)|), then return and need to get used to the garden again, then when they feel safe...
I couldn't quite handle taking pictures today, so here's a Jay from months ago that I forgot to upload.
Through the window as usual, and slow (1/60th second) shutter which is usual too for birds in the trees.
I'm not up to cleaning the windows ATM, so this isn't quite as sharp as it should be, but I thought it worth uploading because of the raised crown feathers.
Through the window (which I've still not convinced my wife to clean |=)|)
One of those days when I can't decide what to upload; I've already upload a picture once and deleted it.|=)| So, for now, here's a Jay.
Through the window as usual.
I wasn't sure about this one, as most of the face/eyes are hidden. But I suppose it's interesting to see the pattern on the crown.
Taken through the window as usual.
I've been watching the juvenile Starlings in the garden all day; waiting for the Sun to come out to get a decent picture. Well it came out, but so did this Jay. The juveniles all flew up into the tree squawking, so it looks like I'll have to wait until later.
Taken through the window as usual...
I've been seeing how much I can zoom in, with the TCON17 attached and using the camera's extended zoom, and still get some detail. I've found that I need support over 826mm, so I've taken this from a bit further away from the window, so I could rest on the freezer. The amount of zoom (876mm) and...
I took this a few months ago, but, at the time, the amount of noise and lack of detail (I didn't turn noise reduction off) put me off of uploading. Looking again, I've changed my mind.|=)|
Through the window as usual.
I've not uploaded a Jay for a while, and they don't visit the garden as often while they are breeding, so here's one from December (which I was sure that I'd uploaded already, but I can't find it in my gallery).
Through the window as usual.
If I'm better later I'll get some pics of the garden, but I'm uploading this Jay from last year for now. I know that I've not got the exposure quite right (whites on head clipped), but I like the pose; also the setting makes a change from the fence.
Taken through the window as usual.
I've not uploaded a Jay pic for a while, so here's a very wet Jay from yesterday. It rained all day, so it wasn't easy focusing as the windows were wet; also very dull. Taken through the window as usual.
I've still got loads of pics from the Reservoirs, but I can't decide which to upload
Seeing as I've not uploaded a Jay for a while, here's one from November. It's similar to one that's in my gallery, just a slightly different pose. Through the window as usual.
It's pouring with rain today, so I doubt that I'll get any pictures. I found a couple of Jay pics from October, that I thought I'd uploaded but didn't. Through the window @ 1/50th second - 577mm zoom,.
