I was on my walk today and I noticed a male and female Eurasian Teal. I took out my camera and took a few snaps. Something spooked them and the female was the first to fly away. Then I was ready and took this picture of the male as he leapt out of the water.
I think this picture is probably one of the best Teal images I've ever taken!!
He was fairly close to the hide so I've not had to crop that much water away.
A lovely sunny day that was too.

Sorry. Long day at work, spin session at the gym, late dinner, taxi coming at 6am tomorrow, so off to bed now even though I haven't had time to browse BF. Nor am I likely to have time tomorrow - long day of meetings in Oslo, then late flight home. Boy am I looking forward to catching up with...
Great light yesterday. Nothing unusual on my walk (I only walked around the downtown area, as I had a couple of errands), but this Teal was a treat to see. All in all 42 postworthy shots. More than enough to keep me busy posting until I start getting California birds next week.
I stood very, very still and eventually she came a bit closer to the bridge. In general the teal are not as bold as the other ducks along the park here, so by the time she came closer it was getting rather dark.
