There were some feeders hanging in the trees, but the only bird we saw there was a female Bullfinch, a trip tick, so a very welcome sight.
I'm off out mid morning and won't really be back home until early evening, so I'll try and do what I can before I go and catch up later on. Have a good day all.
Two surprise guests at the garden feeders amongst the regulars. Only 2nd time saw Bullfinch in the garden, and a handful of times for Siskin. Delighted!
ps was just filling the feeders before posting and looked up to see a Goldcrest about 2 feet from me - that is a first in the garden!

Anyway...
I have only ever seen this species twice, but a friend has 2 prs visit his garden on a regular basis. So whils't he was away for the weekend ,last week,he kindly filled up all his feeders, and I managed a couple of shots.I was sitting outside in full view,so I was very lucky to mamange these 2 shots.
Now that I have started put up my own branches, it feels more satisfying getting shots on "genuine" ones like this! Only I know of course, so it is only psychological. This female kept a watchful eye on the strange creature holding a 700 mm lens on free hand, getting lactic acid up to...
