Another cold and dull day but went to Steart Marshes to try and capture a short eared owl. Four hours standing around yielded nothing. Got this and her husband on the walk back to the car.
Hi,Jamie,here is a pretty little female ,yes,she is on the ground,not quite as stunning as your gorgeous male,posted yesterday,but very sweet.They really are one of my fav species.Have lots more of her perched atop her usual gorse bush,but as you say,rarely seen on the ground.
Not really sure re the light with this shot,it was taken in direct sunlight ,with the bird looking directly into the sun ,with the beach in the background.This is one of a pr,who have their patch ,almost on the beach.But at least an uncluttered background-for once.
I could have cropped this shot to highlight the little female stonechat,but I just liked the long slender grass stalk.If anyone thinks I should have cropped closely,please feel free to say as such.
