This was shot through a hedge on a very cold dull day.

Another cold and dull day but went to Steart Marshes to try and capture a short eared owl. Four hours standing around yielded nothing. Got this and her husband on the walk back to the car.

She was sitting on a groyne on the beach.

The young female is the partner to the male in the prev photo.My fav species along with the Swallows.

She is so pretty,I think she may be a young adult,her partner is the male shown in a prev photo.

I think she just wanted a photo to be taken,hope you like it.

Hi,Jamie,here is a pretty little female ,yes,she is on the ground,not quite as stunning as your gorgeous male,posted yesterday,but very sweet.They really are one of my fav species.Have lots more of her perched atop her usual gorse bush,but as you say,rarely seen on the ground.

Not really sure re the light with this shot,it was taken in direct sunlight ,with the bird looking directly into the sun ,with the beach in the background.This is one of a pr,who have their patch ,almost on the beach.But at least an uncluttered background-for once.

I could have cropped this shot to highlight the little female stonechat,but I just liked the long slender grass stalk.If anyone thinks I should have cropped closely,please feel free to say as such.

Took this shot in the late evening sunset.Highlights the beautiful rich russet colours in her plumage.

So few Stonechats this year,but ,I have now found a couple of pairs,both on the dunes and the sea defences,one of my fav little birds.

The 1st year I have taken no Stoney chats,throughout the summer.Took a couple of shots in March,no more since.But spotted this pr of youngsters.The next shot is of a young male,so hopefully they have paired up.Lighting not good,it is either very bright sunshine,or very overcast,wet and...
