Dear (birding) friends, my holidays are near up and I'm quite busy. So I won't be able to write as many comments on all the beautiful photos as I would love to. But I can always take some time to have a look at them and enjoy them. And I would like to go on posting photos as often as possible...

This lady kept returning just asking to have a photo taken....so why not.

I had some feedback on my initial shot and I think this is a better crop.

Kingfisher from a recent hide weekend

I shot this one this past weekend and not really sure what type of duck it is.

Mum and two kids visited my garden two years ago. They stayed for about 10 minutes looking for food, time enough to take some nice photos through the window. The kids were fun to watch as they were hopping around.

I had to make the most of the lovely blue sky - it didn't last long, shortly after we had months of dark grey skies and rain, rain, rain!!!

For a Saturday Fun series this week, three images of birds adapting to inclement weather. Then we got to October which, sun or no sun, was colder. On a clear, cold, windy day I hiked the Lade peninsula trail. The sparrows at the wetlands area called "the sump" were fluffed up like so...

Another from yesterday at Hogganfield Loch. Loads of these about, however difficult to get a pair close together and in profile. Ducking & diving....!
