We don't have many Fieldfares at the moment and the Blackbirds are giving them a hard time of it, chasing them away from the feeders every time they spot one. I've never seen this behaviour before but we usually have a lot more Fieldfares.
This is a comparatively new one but the other 2 are previously unposted reprocessed pictures from 2013.
I'm posting today because I was helping to organize a Burns supper yesterday.
We've had large flocks of winter thrushes during the past week, mostly Fieldfares but also a few Redwings. The light was poor but I decided to go out and see what I could get. I didn't take any decent pictures of Redwings but there were Fieldfares eating berries and I found a flock of Waxwings.
I love to take photographs with snow in the background. If it's actually snowing that's even better. Very little snow left now, though you have to watch where you put you feet as it's very icy in places.
2 more snow images today.
The birds have been ignoring these fallen apples all winter as they're right next to a very busy pathway but the cold weather has altered all that now.
Another recent picture, this time from this year and there's even some snow in it. We have a thin covering of snow today but it was too dark for pictures. Maybe tomorrow :-).
We're off to the south of Sweden for a week tomorrow via Lake Tkern where we're staying for 2 days. Not sure whether I'll have time to post but i'm taking my laptop. Some sunshine is promised but not much warmth.
