Another pic from yesterday at the reservoirs. I tried to be a bit more creative for this shot; also got wet and muddy from laying on the grass to get the low POV |=)|
Great light at the reservoirs the other morning, but not under the trees where these (and other Thrushes) were digging around in the wet fallen leaves. So, slow shutter speed, but my first pic of these this Winter, so I thought I'd upload it.
1st Fiedfare shot this year, came across about a 100 feeding away in the field along with Redwings and some Mistle thrush this morning, Not as close as i would have liked, but not too bad.
.... and they flew.
As we sat and watched the tree with the Fieldfares, more and more came in and settled, then suddenly they decided to go.
I was actually quite pleased at how this one turned out but wish I was as good a story teller as DocDuck.
We dropped down the hill to run (noooo.... not run.... I mean drive.... before anyone makes silly comments about an old lady with two replaced hips:eek!:;) ) along the top side of Lintrathen, and I stopped to see what the two blobs at the top of the tree were, by the time I got the camera out...
Last year the waxwings only barely showed up. The fieldfares arrived like an invasion and gobbled up all the berries in one day. This year it's the waxwings' turn. The flock keeps coming back, but hasn't eaten up all the berries yet, while only two fieldfares arrived for a nibble and soon took...

I've not been feeling that great for the past few days, but as its nice this morning, I might bus it to Rye Harbour. If I do, you have a "Good Un", and see y'all later. Sorry about that for anyone looking in, I had the wrong pic, so changed it.
Today three shots of non-waders on the mudflats. This fieldfare was doing it's best wader imitation, I assume looking for worms or the like in the mud.
