Another from the Reservoirs last week. I'll have to try to get there again soon before the berries are all eaten.
Oh, and there's a bit of another Fieldfare at the bottom of the frame. In fact, there was bits of other birds in most of the pics I took; I didn't even see them until I looked at...
Another from Wednesday morning at the Reservoirs. The colours aren't messed up White Balance, but the strong morning Sunshine. It's amazing how different birds can look in different lighting.
I'll be honest; I never saw the second bird until I looked at the pic on the Laptop. The one at the top sort of sneaked from behind the bush to get a berry, so I almost missed that one too|=)|
Anyway, I decided to crop this to leave the other bird in the frame; perhaps a closer crop on the main...
Another from Wednesday morning at the Reservoirs.
I'm not sure when I'll be back today, as the Boiler is broken, so I've no heating or hot water. The electricity will probably be off while they fix it, so no router/internet.
I found a group of at least 10 of these this morning; well I actually found them a few weeks ago, and I now know where they live|=)|
If you're in London before the Hawthorn berries are gone, PM me and I'll tell you where these are (for a small finders fee of course|=)|)
Apart from these, and a...
Seeing as I've a few more Sparrowhawk pics to upload, I thought I'd upload a Fieldfare instead|=)|
Oh, Sparrowhawks seem to be visiting the garden more often the last few days. Something odd is happening that I've not worked out yet. It seemed like a male left half a meal in my trees for a...
Fieldfare; adult. Just one bird of a big group of several hundreds. Plateau de Milllevaches; Creuse. December 2011...and another poor light shot.
"Tcha-Tcha" is the local name for this bird.
Another pic of the Fieldfare at the Reservoirs the other day. A different pose, but I still had to take the picture through a jungle of twigs and leaves. They don't make it easy do they|=)|
AAP
One of the few pictures I've got of this species where it actually looks a bit like one LOL.
This was taken somewhere in Fife, maybe at the Eden Estuary.
Just back from the Reservoirs, and I found a lone Fieldfare. These haven't been where I'm used to seeing them this year, so I looked somewhere else|=)|
Lots of vegetation in the way, but that's why it felt safe.
Back a bit later
Well Peeps,
We're on the move again this morning, off to Southampton for Christmas, and only two trains on this trip. Hope the weathers good for y'all over the holidays, see y'all later.
This could be a serious contender for worst Fieldfare shot ever posted on Birdforum. A largish flock of them was flying around at Strumpshaw Fen but they were incredibly wary. Several times they would be flying straight towards us but would suddenly spot us and veer off at a crazy angle. We...
