It was a busy day at my feeder and I was lucky to catch the house finch in flight.

This one I spotted yesterday in a treetop. It's not as sharp as I wished, but I hope you like it anyway.

The morning after a snow/freezing rain storm I looked out to see the sun rising and found this goldfinch sitting in my dogwood tree with all of the branches lit up from the sun. It had a much bigger impact when I changed it to a black and white image.

Talk about being in the right place at the right time! This house finch was coming over to the feeder and I was lucky enough to capture him in full flight!

This little guy was also waiting his turn for the feeder on this blustery day.

Our little goldfinches are taking advantage of this feeder on a cold winter's day

Male. What the earth is an African bird doing in Singapore? They must have been released during some Buddhist ceremony to improve one's karma. Very friendly and will probably become food for crows and accipiters soon.

A regular winter visitor to our garden

It was a great day for me to find this Snow Finch. I stood up a hill and there was a fast wind, I waited for 1 hour until to captured it.

This guy has to be the patriarch of the finch family around here. He always has that "large in charge" demeanor about him.

I think it's a linnet...or could it be a young siskin/winter plumage? The two seem similar. Any help would be great!

...at least I think this is a female linnet. Please correct me if I've classified wrong! Whatever the species is, they seem much more in evidence during winter... Snapped along the nature walk in Wicklow Town using manual focus on a Tamron 200-500.

You probably can't tell it but I like to photograph these guys.
