When there's too many subjects to capture...huge flock of Turkey Vultures.
  2. Flocking

    Flocking

We drove to a different part of Herdsman Lake and this was the view we had. Lots of Pacific Black Ducks flocking there. I don't think I'd seen so many together before that. The reed bed in the background is actually a rather large island in the middle of the lake.
  3. Incoming

    Incoming

This is a a small part of a little flock of Cockatiels that came in to the dam. I've extracted a section that shows various flight poses etc. There's a male at the back, the one with a white head.
  4. Cloned Pink Footed Geese?

    Cloned Pink Footed Geese?

It looks like I've used Photoshop and 'cloned' these geese, but this is exactly how they were! Taken on a bright sunny day in Aintree with the sun right overhead - it's a weird effect. I have more photos of this event - there were hundreds - and they made SUCH a racket, but it was a wonderful...

Egrets' Conference at Our City Lake_14

In my opinion, the best scene was this flock of egrets assembled on the hyacinth weed seemingly enjoying the cool evening breeze over the lake.
  11. Flamingo Fair

    Flamingo Fair

Location: Sewree Creek, Mumbai. Shot against glaring sunlight and from a considerable distance. Hence, quality of photo not so good. Uploading this to illustrate the point I made earlier about thousands of flamingos flocking to feed, nest and breed at the mud flats here. This is just one shot of...

This flock of coots (fulica atra) is searching for open water on the frozen surface of the lake. Once all the water is freezing, they will head south in search of warmer climate.

Anyone fancy going for a drink?

This flock of thirsty Linnets dropped in for a quick drink. Someone must have called "last orders" as they were gone in a flash.

    One legged landing

Such a nice sight today to see a large number of Godwits back and in summer colours, around 250 on the Stour at Mistley and numbers rising each day, if you want a place to see these birds extremely close, this is the spot
