    This is the smallest species of the parakeet/parrot family in Brazil. It can reach a maximum of 12 centimeters, and weigh around 25 grams. Tiny little beauties. They are not a rare species, but that doesn't mean it is easy to find them. Been a long time since I last saw one around my area...

    This is an adult male. The female and the young males or females do not have the blue wings.

    There were three males trying to get a female's attention. This one seemed to be the winner, after a great display of its blue wings.
