Here we go again, trying and trying. Please pardon my humble out buildings, but it's the best water in Bossier Parish.
Blessed, by 3-part hummer harmony, Dan
More pasture and fence behind this Queen of Young Road. It's is such a joy to watch these little warriors. And today is my Dad's 87th birthday, nextdoor and very active.
Blessed, and priviledged, Dan
One of my better gorgets of late, but not quite what I'm seeking. Calls this my "fence period." My martin-house turned bluebird apartment pole and the neighbor's cow pasture in the background.
Blessed, to be alive in the southern USA, Dan
More of what I do. My humble inner back fence, a clothesline pole and a pasture. Another young male learning hummer life in Elm Grove.

I know... not a great photograph, but a supreme example of the first few red feathers on a young male ruby-throat. The outside tail feathers will darken on the tips, as well, before they leave.
Blessed, to have a front row seat for all this, Dan
More gorget attemps, shooting for as natural as it gets. I like a cloudy sky for background, with a few tree-tops here and there.
Blessed, every day is Thanksgiving, Dan
More gorget attemps. Great sky today for backgrounds. A few showers brought the birds heavily, having washed the natural nectar out of blossoms temporarily. Kept 125 shots today! Wish I could share some birds with some of you pro guys!
Blessed, immeasurably, Dan
Lghting the gorget must be the most difficult challenge in hummer photography. It's so hard to capture it the way the sun lights it. Gotta keep trying however.
Blessed, by countless opportunities, Dan
More open-sky hummers, what a joy to watch. How they memorize obstacles, yet compensate for every slight move in furnishings.
Blessed, by fabulous entertainment, Dan
Most of you guys, if you had my birds and their trust, you'd make me look like a Jr. High School Science Project. But I like it.
Blessed, for something to do, Dan
It rained last night and my feeders were mad this morning. There were so many birds, I took 250 shots in 2 hours and kept 176 good close-ups from them. I am, you know...
Blessed, and blessed, and blessed, Dan
In my experience, this neck marking soon shows a match-head size red spot on the neck and darkening of outside tail tips. Some young males already have some ruby spots.
Blessed, loving to watch all of this, Dan
