This Fulmar is one of the last pics taken before my hand op. It will be hit and miss for me on BF this week, as my cousin Big Dick, and his little lady Kirsty arrived last night. They will be staying until sunday, so I will be on here as often as I can. I am on here now, as the lazy sods are not...
Had my first trip of the year out to the cliffs to see if the Fulmars and Guillemots were back on their ledges, thankfully they were.
Managed to get this shot while there, even got blue sky as a background!!!
Three shots from our holiday in Ireland today, this un was taken at a pretty little place called Ballybunnion. This is as close as I have ever got to these birds, we have them along the cliffs at Rock-A-Nore, but a pity about the overcast weather.
Agitated methinks as it's 'better half' was hogging all the best ledge space...like women with duvets i believe ;) Was taken as a 'head shot' but not quite as sharp as i'd hoped...but can i claim cold, wet, shaky hands, high cliffs etc...no? a bad workman! oh fair enough then :) Mike
Sorry I posted this in the wrong area. I was looking down at the sea with a fairly strong on shore wind and the translucent colours were amazing. Gannets were close but not close enough for the colour of the sea to be included so a passing fulmar obliged. This is my first real painting of sea.
I was out on the cliff top on the Lizard in Cornwall and the translucancy of the water looking directly down was amazing. Gannents were very close to shore but a Fulmar was the ideal subject. this was my first real atempt at sea.
