Suffering a bit this morning, heavy night out on the lash with our guests. Its white, windy and really cold outside here today, with more of the white stuff due. So its great we have 16 pubs and 4 clubs within a quarter mile radius of our house, not far to go...
I don't know what was so fascinating about this Kingfisher perch but this drake Gadwall went to a lot of trouble to reach up and peck at it each time it swam past. I imagine it was nibbling at the algae on it. Ron
I thought this was a pair of Gadwalls but then I looked again and discovered that it was a female Mallard on the right. I will get the hang of it one day! The green in the water is from reflected reeds. Ron
Two males fighting over a female caused quite a stir on the lake.
