The last in my series of "The Gannets of Bempton Cliffs". Thank you for all your kind comments on the series, they were very much appreciated.

Took Dad to Bempton Cliffs whilst we were away in Sept to see the gannets before they all departed (he did not manage to see them in Scotland earlier in the year). There were still quite a lot of adults and still some youngsters on the cliffs and we got some really good views. Managed to...

Soaring along the cliffs against the breeze.

Starting to wake up and take a look around.

Very unusual to see one of these by a inland pond on my patch, I guess it had been blown off course and was recuperating. It had gone a few days later.

Closer crop to show the detail of the markings on this bird. Quite a difference to the adult bird in terms of looks and appeal, but it's still striking in its own right.
