Today I saw a bird in my garden that looked like a cetti’s warbler when i’ve looked in my rspb bird book and then on google images.
It was roughly the size of a robin, pale brown with a slightly darker brown head. I did notice it had an orangey tail.
It was alone and just sitting on...
My mother sent me this video of a singing bird (bird itself not shown in video, only its song can be heard), but I'm not 100% sure it was indeed singing, and I have been having a hard time IDing it... It's probably a common species. But what is puzzling me is the time of the year the bird was...
On a visit to Lochwinnoch Ayrshire, I couldn't miss taken a photo of the chaffinch as they were everywhere. I think they followed me from my garden. As I also have an abundance visiting daily for food.
The University of California Santa Cruz has this fabulous Arboretum with plants from all over the world. This section was alive with hummers. I stood amongst them, very still, and was able to get this shot. It was pretty exciting. There were probably 20-30 hummers within 5 feet of me.
Another of my weekend shots from the garden - so happy to see these birds hanging around but its gone down to 3 or 4 now, juts hope I can keep them coming back some while.
