    A lady loves diamonds

A female Magpie-Lark, was found with two Diamond Doves, but one of them flew as I was taking the pictures. It seems so strange to see a lark being bigger than a dove LOL
  2. Sleepy?

    Sleepy?

I managed to catch this Diamond Dove using the third eyelid, so was torn between showing you this one or a 'normal' picture. Then decided there's plenty of them but fewer like this. Beautiful little doves these that I only saw in the Queensland outback.

    Aaaw... nearly perfect

Well... as perfect as an unexpected flight shot can be for me LOL. After an early breakfast with Hans and Judy at the Cunnamulla hotel, we set off for the Back Dam at Bowra, where we spent many happy hours. One of the first visitors was this beautiful Diamond Dove. Not the best of pictures...

    A real gem

The pretty little Diamond Dove was there again too. They really are adorable. Actually Hans was really mean... he insisted I contact Ken to let him know I'd seen one, as he knew it was on Ken's wanted list!;)
  9. A jewel?

    A jewel?

We headed for what's called the Back Dam and after getting ourselves settled under bushes near the waterside waited to see what would come. The first bird down for a drink was a very pretty little Diamond Dove and a new Lifer for me.

    Newbie!!

Was at Westgate Park yesterday after Nora so kindly wrote me where she had seen the owl. Unfortunately I did not get to see it but I did observe this tiny bird feeding on the ground. I ignored it thinking it was a Sparrow of which there were a few around feeding as well. When I finally got...

This diamond dove was the only one amongst 20 or so peaceful doves. The Peaceful dove is common in the territory but not so the diamond dove.
