Another from the beginning of the month, planning a trip off the local patch at the weekend as the lake is a bit quiet at the moment, so hopefully some new stuff to post next week. Fingers crossed.
A pair of male Common Goldeneye were feeding on the Deschenes Rapids on the Ottawa River on Sunday morning. This one was meandering around in one of the more sheltered spots.
Another Goldeneye for those of you that have been enjoying them. I've got more shots of this bird than I know what to do with.....which doesn't happen very often.
Two drakes now on the lake to go with the three females. The lake was well frozen this morning. This one popped up through a hole in the ice, looked around and then half flew/half ran back onto the ice free area.
