A nice day for finches that I don't often get to see here! Spotted this one at the top of a tree in the walled garden.

Goldfinches were also tricky to get close to. This was one of several in a tree by a stream at a point where the path turned after a diversion around a farm. I've now seen the final edit of the video my husband put together after our trek. While I was trying for better shots of these...

Sorry I've not been posting lately but it's been a bit manic, the early arrival of our first grandchild being just one event that has not seen me pick up my camera for two weeks! Here's one from our visit to Scotland at the end of April.

Well Peeps, This morning we're on the road again...We're going to spend 9 days with my dear old Mum in Lakenheath, then a couple of days with Hazel's daughter in Wroxham, before moving on to Blakeney in Norfolk where we will be having a week birding the North Norfolk Coast. So I will catch up...

This beauty was checking to make sure he got the perfect spot on the feeder.

While visiting Colorado I went on a nature walk and saw this finch in the flowers. It was perched perfectly!

This goldfinch was hanging on the thistle sock just perfectly!

This was the perfect meeting place for this little goldfinch. His bright colors are a great contrast against the frogs.
