Goliath Heron, not at all common is Serengeti so we were pleased to find one.

I photographed this bird from a tourist boat on the Kazinga Channel between Lakes Edward and George.

Amazed at how big these guys were. Dont think this photo does them justice as their plumage is really beautiful. Sadly wasnt able to get as close again to another one of these beauties

This species, half as big again as a Grey Heron, is the largest in the world. An impressive bird!

This impressive creature certainly lived up to its name. In flight it looked huge!
