The rest of the Goosander family came into view on a v ideo I took. That is a frame grab from it, so excuse the quality. I had no idea they really could move so fast and were all constantly dipping their heads into the water. It was difficult to keep up with them.

    The terrible threes!!

Suddenly we became aware of a family of Goosanders swimming just below the hide. We didn't see them coming, they just appeared! Here are three of the young ones (are they called ducklings?). If you look closely you'll see that the middle one is about to swallow a fish. Whether he caught it...

    Potential Goosander? UK

Hey, I was lucky enough to see this duck today on my hike! I THINK it is a Goosander? I've never seen a duck like this, I'm not an avid birdwatcher, but I do very much enjoy seeing new (to me) species randomly. I didn't get a fantastic photo, as I only had my phone today and the duck was quite...

I was in my riverside hide when I noticed that a male goosander caught a big fish. The scene happened way too far away for a picture. BUT ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿคฃ Two females and a second male were, let me say "hungry" as well, and chased him into my direction. This capture is almost full frame (thatยดs why the...

Today was awesome. 26 Celsius and a cycling trip outside of Munich. The dabchick is not here anymore but three goosanders have arrived. ๐Ÿ˜ The water level of the pond is currently very low.

A Goosander / Merganser family with 13 Ducklings filmed at the Ostravice river in Ostrava, Czech Republic. It was a joy to observe this family of a female Goosander with their 13 ducklings for a long time. Since I had no tripod with me I sat down in the gras on the riverside with my legs...

but at least the water is lovely, the bird is in focus, and personally I find that whimsical expression priceless (nudge nudge, wink wink).
