Another from the close encounter as I walled along the River Colne

A lucky set of images, whilst trying to get in front of 3 birds, one took off and for once camera settings were close enough to grab a few frames

Where these birds are they are easily spooked so not surprising they move around a little

A difficult shot in the strong light, trying to safeguard the whites meant I didn't manage to capture that super bottle green head

This one had a clean background so only the sky was colouring the water

3 prs of Goosander entertained me yesterday which ws nice as the sun was shining, this one has a willow as a back drop so reflecting greens and browns

It's nice to get close shots of this species. I hope they return again so I can get the male bird which may be an exposure nightmare. So I will be setting up in the dark and hoping they drop in again.

Although these birds are easily spooked I don't think the bird clocked me since I was in a make do hide. There is a path behind me and people walking by spook the birds frequently but I think it helped for this composition. Trouble is I only have a very narrow field of view owing to overhanging...

Several of these guys stayed frustratingly far out in the middle of the loch - loads of blob pix....! This guy was a bit bolder than the others, so able to get closer pic.

Short visit to Hogganfield Loch yesterday. Loads of birds about......my first Goosander (I think that's what it is). Also first for Little Grebe, Gadwall, juvenile Great Crested Grebe.
