Same heron, same place, different day...

This heron and I have become friends I think. He used to fly as soon as he spotted me, now he just stands there. Today for about 15 minutes.

This Great Blue Heron was digiscoped while hiking on a levee at St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, approximately 30 miles south of Tallahassee, FL USA.

There was a state trout hatchery about a mile down the road from where we were staying in Branson, Missouri. I would go down there about 6:00AM before any worker activity started and would find the place swarming with Great Blue Herons (12 to 15 at a time) They would all be standing on the wire...
