I saw three species of grebes at Vest-Amager last Thursday, during my long layover on route to rhus. Also a number of waders and warblers that I've yet to ID (didn't have my field guide along, so will...
He'd just been dive-attacked by a gull and had successfully defended self and chick from the attack. Too bad I was a bit too slow zooming out so I didn't get both birds in the shot. But oh well. It's a pretty good shot of his defence posture.
I'm back. And I've pretty much caught up browsing. So now back to catching up on clearing out old photos ... Gotta make room for my Danube Delta trip that starts next weekend, not that filling the 'puter with hundreds of shots from Vest-Amager last Thursday helped. Nor did getting sunburned...
'm not going to be able to stay awake until posting time tomorrow night. Barely able tonight and tomorrow's a longer hike. Hiking is going well, and tomorrow we're even promised better weather. Today's bird highlight was a grey wagtail. But too tired to edit now, so I'll continue catching up on...
Here number 13 in this series, 14 different species, the Great Crested Grebe.
On my way back home I once more visited the ''Plaskreek'' bird reserve, the geese were too far away, but this Grebe was just within reach for my camera.
Just one more species to go.....
