This was taken during the really hot spell of summer weather this year. This very hot looking bird was sitting in the parched grasses right beside the trail and showed no inclination to fly away. I just took a couple of quick photos and moved on.

Didn't really do enough for our visit to Coll. It wasn't until a couple of days later, that we discovered Calmac did trips to Coll, where you get the ferry and a guide to take you round the island to the RSPB reserve and the sand dunes - both too far for old folk...
