    Simple Agreement.

The simple agreement is this, you pose for me and I feed you, OK. Can you get your birds to pose like this. lol.

    Startling

This Woodpecker decided to move on the arrival of the Starling.
  6. Throw a deaf one.

    Throw a deaf one.

In this case tapping, and everything else did not work, a look of disgust and continues to enjoy the nuts. Back to the drawing board.
  7. Only the Lonely.

    Only the Lonely.

Still so nice to see the woodpeckers from this year still visiting the feeders.
  8. Early Morning Sunlight.

    Early Morning Sunlight.

An 8.0am start on a very cold, frosty and crisp morning with thick mist in the background. You can see that the frost has just melted on the grape vine where I captured this photo of the great spotted Woodpecker. The sun, from my right, had just come over the trees to light up the Woodpecker...

  13. Come to Pappa.

    Come to Pappa.

This has been a very good year for all the different birds that visit my feeder on a regular basis. My constant feeding has paid off with so many young, in particular the Woodpeckers and Hawfinch. Whilst putting out fresh food this morning one of the young woodpeckers landed on my shoulder. I...

    Exit Left.

Sorry to all for not being in touch of late but difficult times at home. Not been out much with the camera so all I can offer is another of my Woodpecker photos, hope you like this one.
  15. The Kernel.

    The Kernel.

He's still here taking the nuts on a regular basis. Hope for some new photos with the arrival of the Hoopoes, Redstarts and Raptors.
  16. The Juggler.

    The Juggler.

Yes I know it's another woodpecker with a nut shot but there is not much else happening at the feeder at the moment. Plenty of action in the sidelines so hoping for lots of different things over the next few months. So I get entertained by the antics of several over enthusiastic Woodpeckers. I...
  17. Gotcha.

    Gotcha.

He's fast, he's sneaky, normally I get a photo of his rear end as he exits, this time I managed a full wing spread photo. Who's your daddy. lol.
  18. Beaky.

    Beaky.

Still visiting and taking the nuts.
  19. For my Next Trick.

    For my Next Trick.

Lots of new things happening but just not in range yet, so all i can offer is another woody shot.
  20. Cracker.

    Cracker.

Take a Walnut in your hand and then hit it with a nail like I did. After six hits it was still not broken and yet this woodpecker can hit it once or twice and its open. The precision in which they do this never ceases to amaze me and is fascinating to watch. He is a real cracker.

    i.s.o.

I have posted this photo taken just a short time ago mostly for information purposes. I have been asked many times about using high iso. so this one is at 10,000 iso. at f10. Normally I only boost the iso to gain speed on dull days if taking photos that require a faster speed, although a dull...
  22. Titch.

    Titch.

The name I have given to this regular woodpecker visitor. No less than five down at one time even though the weather was rain and not the normal blue sky.
  23. The Boy's Good.

    The Boy's Good.

Here he is again, taking more walnuts, he is so good at this, I am sure he is having a good laugh at me putting these nuts out. Still, I did get the photo.
