One of my regular visitors which nests in the wood next to my garden each year.

First photo trip of the year yesterday some good shots in a lovely Forest setting.

changed the location (visited another feeder) and took some pics in the late afternoon

The backdrop is Mist trapped in the Forest Canopy.

just loved this pic because it was the first time i confirmed we had them here.

Taken to-day in the Caledonian Pine Forest Cairngorm National Park.

We had quite a good session at Balgavies that day; and this woody came by several times to feed. I don't get to see them at home, so it was lovely to reacquaint myself with them. A year ago I taught you how to pronounce this place.... BalgI, but I bet you all forgot;)

Great Spotted Woodpecker with his breakfast.

I dont usually bother with competitions, but thought I would give this un a whizz, as it shows off the spots on this Pecker, from which it got its name...I try not to post the same pics more than once, so this is a reworking of a pre posted image.
