  1. Shadowline

    Shadowline

Move the perch, change the camera settings and take advantage of a low winter sun. What do you get, a bright image and dark background.
  2. Eat plenty of Greens

    Eat plenty of Greens

I have ten mixed nest boxes in my garden, eight are occupied. Some of the youngsters have already flown and a second sitting has started. This is one busy parent bird bringing home the dinner.

  5. Distance.

    Distance.

Just been trying to push the camera and lens a bit to see what could be achieved. So for those who may have been asking a question on the new 7d2 and new 100 400 mkii will it take a 1.4 converter. Answer YES. This is one result almost full frame.
  6. Great Tit.

    Great Tit.

The exif data does not always read correct when the camera does not recognize a lens. This was the Sigma 120 300 f2.8 os sport lens with a sigma 2x converter giving 600mm. Iso. 3200 at f7.1.

    First Photo.

Well it's arrived, the new 7d mkii that is and this is my first photo. Conditions outside not very good, dull, overcast and raining and with the iso. at 800 not a bad start. The first thing i did notice which stood out was the noise, no not the iso, but so quiet compared to my 1dx. The photo is...
  9. HIGHSO.

    HIGHSO.

This photo was taken this morning in the woods with very little light hence the iso. at 8,000. It was an experiment for myself to see what results I could get and for other birders that have asked about high iso. This is one of the reasons I purchased the 1DX and why I have sold my 7D. Even at...

    Great Tit.

This is the first photo from my new lens that arrived Monday. I know other birders may have this lens already,Sigma 120 300 f2.8 0s, but under adverse conditions I think this is a good photo. Lets Twist again like we did last summer.

This Great Tit landed on the post with a screw I had mistakenly left on it. It continued to place and lift it's left leg continuously as though it was doing the Twist. I wish I had it on video.

    Blue Raider. (Great Tit)

Always guaranteed, and always the first back after an alarm. They do say these are at the top of the pecking order of the Tit family but I have seen Blue Tits see them off on a regular basis. Another bird I am guilty of neglecting.
