I went for a long walk along the coastal path. Lots of birds singing in the thick ,prickly bushes. I could hear blackcaps but never saw them. I had a glimpse of a Cetti's warbler deep in a bush.Still no photos of birds!Eventually , I saw a tiny butterfly land on the gorse and that made my day.
I went to this venue to see Man Orchids but knew this butterfly was found here also. I saw several but only this one settled for long enough to get a photo. The strong sunlight has unfortunately beached out some detail.
I was surprised at how small this butterfly was, not having seen one before...
I saw two of these butterflies flying about and resting on this shrub next to gorse and broom in the hedge bordering the narrow path round the saltpans.I like their colour very much. I wonder what the name of the bush is. I can't identify it from my guide-books.
