birds seen during my last trip in Cuba. A green heron of the Cuban mangrove swamps first betrays by his voice before spotting it.
For the American birdwatchers: I need your field guides : in Cuba, can we find virescens virescens or virescens maculata (bahamensis?)
Thanks a lot

Day out at the Esturary/Marsh working on an exposure technique called "ETTR" (Exposure To The Right) based on an article: http://www.digitalphotopro.com/tech/exposing-for-raw_2.html .
Still in the evaluation process as yet. One thing I have to get used to is not using the view screen...
As is typical, this small Heron spent most of the evening skulking amongst the broken stems, in a dark shadow...until he moved forward just enough to light its head with a ray of sunlight.
1/250, f7.1, ISO 500
I walked up to start taking picutres of this immature, and he reached down all the way to the water, and just grabbed this frog, which took him about 3 minutes to finally get him in the right position to swallow him.
