Green Heron digiscoped with Zeiss Diascope 85 and Samsung Note 10+. Little bird was pretty cooperative, and sat on this branch for quite awhile. He was roughly 50 yards away, and seemed to almost enjoy being the center of attention.
Long-legged Green Fly (Condylostylus longicornis: Dolichopodidae) Ca. 6 mm (0.24 in) long. This tiny predatory fly is having another beneficial for lunch (tiny spider).
At that time, I was teaching at a school on a mountaintop, so went out at noon to see birds.
The green bee-eater, a species I'd never seen before, landed in front of me and I was able to get a photo before it flew off.
I never got a good photo of that species again.
I cannot believe that I've not uploaded this image before. It was taken about the same time as the other Musk Lorikeets. Prints have gone into seven local art shows, it has never won a prize, but I like it.
