great seeing this guy in my garden today not seen him visiting for a while.although i dont know if my goldfinch are to impressed.

I still have haps of these to show on BF.

There was a freshwater puddle close by the reedbed and all sorts of birds came down to it to drink or bathe ( reed bunting, stonechat, chaffinch, greenfinch and pipit). The pipit was great fun because it was a very very enthusiastic bather . It didn't seem to mind if the finches bathed too but...

Sorry I'm late browsing. Long day at work and now I have to run over to the neighbors with some papers. I'll browse as soon as I get back. Last three posts from Nov 2 now. Tomorrow we move on to a hike I took on Nov 7, and remind me to start with the fun shots!

The Greenfinches, Sparrows and Tits will occasionally nibble on the crabapples, especially on the half-chewed bits the Thrushes and Waxwings leave behind. But they don't seem to like them as much as the Thrushes and Waxwings do.

And I couldn't watch Greenfinches all day in the garden. I was heading out for a walk to the river and had to get moving while the light looked like it might break through. But by the time I reached the falls, the clouds had grown thicker rather than thinner. Harrumpph from me too.

Just great to see this lovely greenfinch on the feeders this morning in our garden

another from the other day this one enjoying the food nature provides.

This one stayed still for quite a while in the tree above the feeders, managed a few shots.
