The season has started......

This Greenfinch has found itself a great food supply in amongst weeds.

From a very dull today.

Not the best as my Photoshop Elements is on my new computer, which is back at the suppliers. This Greenfinch is busy building her nest.

went to loch winnoch an rspcb reserve.got this little guy not much else around at the time but theres a train station nearby so will definately visit again as i drive but hate driving places i dont know and before you say it i know woman drivers.

Then there are some that hang around patiently until I get a decent shot. But he doesn't look happy about the wait. "Service is so slow at this restaurant! When is she going to say my table is ready?"

I'm so sloooow! Typical that the bird is flying away by the time I get the shutter pressed. Especially if it was perched close by and in the sun for once. I should probably post this one under landscapes, but I think you can just make out that there was a greenfinch there a split second before.

Taken back when the leaves were just sprouting. Then it was an opportunity to practice the manual focus on the Panasonic (not as easy and fast as with a focus ring, but as you can see, it does work if the bird is patient enough). Now I can't even see the birds well enough in there to try. So now...

Always have to check for predators, although I haven't often seen any over my garden. Still, crows and gulls can be pesky enough for a little finch

This juv greenfinch was stealing my mini-apples even before they turn color! And the little rascal didn't even have the decency to wait until the sun was shining on the shrub so I could get a good capture of him! Harrummmph! ;)

Well it's an early start for us, we are off to a Cottage in Mid-Wales for the week. I am hoping to get some new Photos of Welsh Birds ( Feathered ones as well LOL). It is Red Kite country so I hope to see them for the first time, plus whatever else is about. I am taking some bird food and garden...

I think he could be hollering at me to refill the feeder. I'm getting a dozen of these at a time, visiting several times per day, and emptying the feeder at warp speed :eek!:
