Shot through window during snowfall, hence the poor quality.

With dirty bill from foraging on the ground.

We only saw the one Grey-headed Woodpecker, and he stayed stubbornly high up on the shade side of his tree. Still, as a documentation shot it works. He is identifiable ... barely.

Grey-headed Woodpecker (Picus canus) in Chitwan National Park, Nepal

While shooting more common birds during a darkish December day, this Grey-headed woodpecker landed close to my hide. It is quite a shy bird, so was happy to get this shot.

She visited us just when I have to go to work. I chose taking few pics and drive faster.. The weather was unfortenately dark. This pic is at 1/30 sec shutter speed. She can stay still a long time in the branches but when she comes to more open space she is very restless, moving all the time...

Those feeder things dont look good in the picture. But the birds love them...

First time in this winter that she came to visit us..
