First time I've ever seen let alone photographed an immature, yet the adults are among the commonest birds in the Adelaide Hills.

This is an adult Grey Shrike-thrush coming for a bath and to have a drink at a waterhole

A bird often overlooked because of it's rather dull appearance.

One of the commonest birds found in the Mt Lofty Ranges around Adelaide.

Although this doesn't give a clear picture of what the bird looks like, I rather like the effect!

I managed to get an ID on this bird by going on the Internet and getting a photograph of one.

In a eucalypyt adjacent to the Murray River at Euston, NSW. Looks like some spider web on its bill.

Caught, ringed, measured etc., and released. A long term study of birds in the Manjimup area.

Another new one for me, this bird has been around my garden for the last couple of years over the summer months. I just happened to be outside with my camera and managed a quick shot.

One of a pair that has been resident on our farm for a number of years. This is the female which has a white eye-ring and streaking on the throat - not visible in this shot. Males have a black beak.

Also called the Grey Songbird. One of the few times it sat still long enough to get a shot. I love to hear it's beautiful songs with several variations. I have also heard it (only once, luckily while watching it) make a raspy hissing noise which appeared to be a threat at some Rosellas. This...

Very common species in SE Qld. This is a juvenile - note the rufous supercilium.
